United Way Greater Toronto: Seniors Impact Area

Seniors represent the fastest growing age group in Canada. According to the 2021 census, the number of people aged 85 and older has more than doubled over the past 20 years.

Seniors often need more social and physical support. As we age, we are more likely to live with a disability, feel isolated, and live on a low or fixed income. This can create barriers to accessing healthcare, finding community services and programs, and connecting with friends and family.

At United Way Greater Toronto, we aim to provide seniors with the supports they need to access care, connection, and community.

As a partner, advocate, and community-builder, we look for ways to address urgent and unmet needs as well as strategies for systems-level change.
