United Way Greater Toronto: Living Independently Impact Area

op UNITED WAY GREATER TORONTO

About 20 per cent of Canadians between 25 and 64 live with a disability. In neighbourhoods throughout our community, lack of accessibility and discrimination create barriers for some of us, which can increase the likelihood of experiencing poverty, forcing too many to choose between paying for basic living expenses and paying for needed equipment, materials, and medications. Thus poverty impacts people’s lives in many ways, including how one might we live, work, and connect with others.

At United Way Greater Toronto, we aim to create a community where everyone can live independently.

As a partner, advocate, and community-builder, we look for ways to address urgent and unmet needs as well as strategies for systems-level change. We focus on solutions that will amplify the voices of people living with disabilities, improve service delivery, and create better policy and practices.

Please join United Way Greater Toronto to enhance the lives of people living with a disability by donating today.
