Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Canadian men. Funds also help provide a national support system so that no man has to face prostate cancer alone.

Progress is being made! More people are surviving a prostate cancer diagnosis than ever before. Investing in the best prostate cancer research in Canada has helped to cut the prostate cancer death rate nearly in half since 1994 through improvements in early detection and treatment. Because of investments in research, almost 100% of individuals diagnosed with prostate cancer will survive at least five years or more if detected early.

Yet the impact of prostate cancer remains undeniable. Prostate cancer is still the most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer death among Canadian men. This is why we will continue to take action to improve and save lives.

With 1 in 9 Canadian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime and, on average, 64 Canadian men are expected to be diagnosed with prostate cancer every day in Canada, your support has never been more important.
