People across BC face rising costs and financial stress, leaving many struggling to make ends meet. United Way BC helps ensure no one has to face tough moments alone and that more people can move forward with hope and stability.

*1.3 million people find it difficult to afford groceries. Facing impossible choices, many people rely on United Way BC Food Hubs for dignified access to nutritious food. 

*1 in 6 kids live in poverty. Forced to cut essentials like after-school care, families turn to United Way BC School's Out programs for safe, free or low-cost spaces for kids to learn and grow. 

*Youth unemployment is at 14% - levels not seen since 2009. Without early work experience, youth can't build skills and confidence. Programs like United Way BC Future Leaders helps them access meaningful employment.  

*More people are in crisis and don't know where to turn. With homelessness, mental health challenges, and isolation on the rise, 211 British Columbia connects people to help when they need it most.
